Famous Cases

In 2014, together, with his wife, the firm called on the province of Ontario to enact mandatory helmet laws for skateboarders, following the death of a 15-year-old Brantford teen.

In April 2014, Jeremy Diamond and Diamond & Diamond lawyers filed a $20.5 million lawsuit on behalf of eight victims of a shooting at York University headed by its founder Jeremy Diamond. Along with other allegations, the firm alleged the University failed to prioritize the safety of its students.

In August 2015, Jeremy Diamond’s firm took on the case of Tawfiqul Alam, an UberX driver in Toronto who was T-boned by a red-light runner while transporting a passenger on June 9. The accident sent both him and his passenger to hospital and totaled his minivan.

Diamond has also fought for victims’ rights through major class actions which have made national headlines. A 2019 suit against the makers of the popular herbicide Roundup totalled $500 million while another suit in the same year took on Capital One to the tune of $350 million. The suit was on behalf of Plaintiffs seeking legal compensation after a data breach leaked various aspects of their personal information.

In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, Diamond organized multiple class action lawsuits against nursing home providers (Revera, Sienna and more) who failed to adequately protect residents against infection. As a result, many residents died unnecessarily. These suits continue to grow in size approaching a sum of close to $1billion dollars in claimed losses.
